HiLo Adjustable Beds
All the comfort of a Sophie adjustable bed, plus one thing that changes everything for care at home: the whole bed raises and lowers at the touch of a button.

Built for comfort. Backed by real credentials.
Whole-bed height adjustment
The entire platform raises and lowers electrically — up to carer working height, down for safe, easy transfers.
One-touch positions
Zero-gravity, anti-snore, TV and flat — plus height, all on a simple wireless remote with big, clear buttons.
Kinder to carers
Bringing the bed to working height protects the backs of the people doing the caring — family or professional.
Four-layer mattress included
The same RMIT-tested Hygroflex®-topped Australian mattress as every Sophie bed — nothing extra to buy.
NDIS approved
Recognised assistive technology for higher care needs. We prepare the quotes and paperwork your plan manager or OT asks for.
Free delivery and setup in your home
Our team delivers, assembles, and walks you and your carer through every function before we leave. Australia-wide, free.
Who is it for?
Transfers are getting harder
Lowering the bed shortens the distance to standing; raising the head end does the rest. In and out safely, with less help.
A carer helps you at home
Care tasks at bed height are hard on a carer's back. Raising the whole bed turns bending work into standing work.
Coming home from hospital
The HiLo delivers hospital-bed function for recovery at home — without your bedroom looking like a ward.
Worried about falls overnight
A bed that lowers right down reduces the height of any fall — a simple, physical safety measure that works while you sleep.

What is a hi-lo adjustable bed?
A standard electric adjustable bed changes your sleeping position — the head and feet raise and lower. A hi-lo bed adds a second kind of adjustment: the entire bed platform travels up and down. That one extra movement is the difference between furniture and genuine care equipment.
Raised, the bed comes to a carer's working height — no more bending over to help with dressing, wound care or repositioning. Lowered, it makes getting in and out safer and gentler for the person sleeping in it. And unlike the hospital beds it replaces, the Sophie HiLo is designed to look like it belongs in a bedroom.
For pressure care on top of positioning, the HiLo pairs with our alternating air mattresses — together they cover the two clinical essentials of care at home: positioning and pressure management.
- Whole-bed height adjustment — raise for care tasks, lower for safe entry and exit
- Full head and foot positioning with saved presets, like every Sophie bed
- Four-layer Australian-made mattress with RMIT-tested Hygroflex® included
- Bedroom furniture looks — no hospital rails or clinical styling unless you want them
- Delivered, assembled and demonstrated free, anywhere in Australia

Common questions
What's the difference between a HiLo and a standard adjustable bed?
Both give you electric head and foot positioning. The HiLo adds whole-bed height adjustment — the entire platform raises and lowers. If nobody helps you in bed and transfers are comfortable, a standard Sophie adjustable bed is usually the right choice. If a carer helps you, or getting in and out is becoming unsafe, the HiLo earns its place every single day.
Is a HiLo bed the same as a hospital bed?
Functionally it covers the same ground — height adjustment and positioning for care. The difference is that the Sophie HiLo is designed as bedroom furniture: it comes with our four-layer Australian-made mattress and styling that belongs in a home, not a ward.
Can the NDIS fund a HiLo adjustable bed?
Yes — hi-lo beds are well-established NDIS assistive technology, typically supported by an OT recommendation for transfers, care access or falls management. We prepare the quote and supporting information your plan manager or OT needs, and we're happy to talk directly with them.
How much does a HiLo adjustable bed cost?
The HiLo Long Single is $6,789 – $7,999 and the HiLo King Single $7,295 – $8,650, both including the four-layer mattress, delivery and installation anywhere in Australia.
Who operates the height adjustment?
Anyone — it's on the same simple wireless remote as the position controls, with big, clear buttons. Many families set a comfortable everyday height and use the range mainly for care tasks and transfers.
What happens on delivery day?
Our own team brings the bed in, assembles it in the bedroom, and demonstrates every function to you and whoever helps care for you. We take all the packaging away. There's no extra charge — anywhere in Australia.
